We already know that today's typical consumer is doing a lot more shopping online. But what are buyers' habits for digital purchasing and what tools are being used? An infographic from Epsilon on the Direct Marketing News website gives us a look. First off, the most popular web-based shopping tools are retailer sites (62%), printable coupons (55%) and retailer emails (50%). The tools that buyers say influence them most to try something new? These include social activity from retailers (29%) and brands (28%) along with printable coupons and daily deal sites (both 23%). Shopping apps are big, too, with over half of the consumers polled saying they use retailer apps. What does all of this data tell us? It isn't just the convenience factor that draws shoppers online ... they're looking for different ways to save and scoping out the best deals, too.
