In the age of content marketing, we keep hearing that strong copy and visuals go hand in hand. But just how important are those graphic elements? Very. An article from the Content Marketing Institute reports that content of all types (web, blogs, etc.) gets 94% more views when images are included. It also says that 66% of social posts now include an image. So what makes visual elements so effective? In a feed full of posts, the ones with the images have a far better chance of grabbing the reader’s attention. Plus, many people are visual thinkers. They read the copy, but are able to process it better in picture format (this sums up the beauty of an infographic!). On top of that, think of the value visuals have in breaking up long blocks of copy or providing a simple point of interest. Another plus is the variety of options — from charts to photos — we are able to choose from. Bottom line: no matter the piece, visuals can have a huge impact!
